Local SEO and Google Business Profile Management

When someone nearby searches for what you do, Google shows a map with a short list of businesses. Local SEO is the work of getting your business onto that list and giving people a reason to pick you from it.

What is local SEO?

Local SEO is the set of signals Google uses to decide which nearby businesses to show for a search like "plumber near me" or "landscaper in Meridian." The main ones are your Google Business Profile, your listings on other directories, your reviews, and the location information on your own website.

It is separate from regular SEO. A site can rank well for a general topic and still be missing from the map results, because those are driven by the profile and the local signals around it.

Why does the Google Business Profile matter so much?

For many local businesses, the profile is seen more often than the website. It is where people find your hours, phone number, photos, and reviews, and many of them call or ask for directions without ever visiting your site.

A profile that is complete, accurate, and kept up to date tends to be shown more and chosen more. One that is missing categories, has old hours, or has unanswered reviews gives customers a reason to pick someone else.

How long does local SEO take?

Fixes to the profile and listings show up quickly, often within weeks. Climbing in the map results for competitive searches takes longer, because it depends on reviews and consistency built up over months.

We set a baseline at the start, so you can see where you appeared before the work and where you appear after.

What we handle

  • Google Business Profile — setup or cleanup, categories, services, photos, posts, and questions.
  • Directory listings — your name, address, and phone made consistent everywhere they appear.
  • Reviews — a simple way to ask happy customers for them, and help answering them.
  • Location pages — pages on your site for the cities and neighborhoods you serve.
  • Local business schema — structured data that tells Google and AI tools where you are and what you do.
  • Maps beyond Google — Apple Maps and Bing Places, which feed Siri and Copilot.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a physical storefront to rank locally?

No. Businesses that travel to their customers, such as landscapers, cleaners, and contractors, can list a service area instead of a storefront. The profile is set up differently, and we handle that.

Can you remove a bad review?

Only Google can remove a review, and only if it breaks Google's rules. We can flag reviews that do, help you write a calm public reply to the ones that don't, and help you earn enough good reviews that one bad one matters less.

Do you work with businesses outside Boise?

Yes. We have offices in Boise and San Diego and work with local businesses across the country. Local SEO works the same way in any city.
